First Grade and Pre-K!

We are already more than a month into school! Elliot is enjoying first grade. He has made several new friends and has stayed friends with a number of kids from his class last year. He has a nice teacher and has settled into the first grade routine - which is a bit more regimented than kindergarten.

Beatrice is in the 4s at pre-school. She has the same teacher Elliot had when he was in the 4s - which she thinks is a pretty cool thing. She loves to ask him questions that start off with, "Elliot, when you were in the 4's…?"

Its hard to believe that next year she'll be in Kindergarten!

Last Day of Kindergarten

Shortly after Memorial Day, the school year ended. Elliot grew and learned SOOO much this past year.   He loved school - which was due in large part to his fantastic teacher. He can't wait to start first grade. I can't believe how different he looked on the last day of school compared to the first day!

Memorial Day in Colorado!

We headed out west to see Grammy and Papa over Memorial Day. We had a great time spending time with friends and family. Daddy had a meeting in Florida before the trip so he met me and the kids in CO. They did a great job on the flight. The landing was a bit rough - Bea fell asleep and then had an accident that I couldn't tend to until we got off the plane - but we made it.

We spent our first night in Denver with Aunt Stacey, Uncle Joe, and cousins Webb and Adelaide. Aunt Stacey and Uncle Joe planned a lovely brunch the next morning and we had a great time catching up with old friends. So much fun that Mommy didn't take any photos - oops!

Later that day we drove to Grammy and Papa's. Shortly after arriving Elliot was checking out the local wild life. He was especially interested in a nest of black birds in a nearby tree. They made quite a racket when the daddy bird delivered food to them.

Our cousins came out to stay and Grammy and Papa's too. The girls were excited to wear matching PJs.

Webb really liked his cousin Elliot. It was pretty sweet.

Mommy and Daddy snuck away to run the Bolder Boulder 10K.

Mommy was very happy to get to spend time with her friend Sarah. Her son Cooper is a cutie! They came over to Grammy and Papas for a BBQ and met up with us for a little hike.

Thankfully we were all together for the return flight home!

Friendly Neighbors

One of the great things about living in the rental house is the wonderful neighbors. We moved next door to good friends and the kids (and grown-ups) have loved it. During the school year the kids get to play together quite a bit. We walk to and from school together almost every day. There is a tree at the school that Bea loves to play in.

Note the hand holding. First love. Elliot says she's one of his best friends so - "why wouldn't I want to hold hands with her?"

 Goofy 4 year old girls.

When the weather is nice you might find us playing with our friends in the alley behind our house.

It also helps to have friends who like the same things like swimming and ice-cream...
