Egg-citing Stuff

This past weekend Elliot and I decorated Easter eggs. I always loved decorating eggs when I was younger and I loved sharing this Easter tradition with Elliot. I tired to show him how to draw on the eggs with crayons and overlap colors to make new colors (yellow + blue = green), but he preferred to dip each egg in every color then cover them with the stickers that came with the egg decorating kit. Unfortunately stickers don't stick to wet eggs - a very frustrating situation for a 2 1/2 year old.

Only 5 days to go until Baby Sister arrives. We'll be showering Elliot with love and affection this Easter weekend, and I promise to post lots of pictures on Sunday.

Breakfast with the Haugens

Our friends the Haugens, who live a couple of Metro stops away, met up with us this past Sunday in our hood for breakfast then a trip to the playground. Nick and Caitlin's son, Gus, is a little bit younger than Elliot and they are also expecting a baby girl in April.

The boys had a great time munching on blueberry muffins, pointing out and naming vehicles driving by, and playing on the playground. I expect that with kids so close in age, that we'll be spending a lot of time with our friends the Haugens.

First Golf Lesson

With the arrival of Baby Girl less than two weeks away, Mommy and Daddy have been spending lots of quality time with Elliot. This past weekend brought beautiful Spring weather so we spent much of our time outside. On Saturday Daddy played 9 holes of golf at the local public course. Before he teed off, he gave Elliot a little lesson. Elliot liked chasing after the balls more than anything else and pretty much ignored all of Daddy's pointers. We think he'll be ready for his first set of clubs by three.
