Pulling Up

Last night Elliot didn't feel like going to bed and was more interested in playing in his crib than sleeping. At one point when I went in to his room to "help" him go to sleep, he scooted over to the crib rail pulled, put his hands on the rail, pulled up to his knees - then pulled up to a stand! Needless to say we lowered the crib last night. I'll try to get a pic of his standing skills this weekend.

Home Sweet Home

We have been home now a few days but this is the first opportunity that I have had to post...

Elliot was great on the flight home. He was happy, squirmy and smiley the first flight and he slept through the second flight. We are still adjusting to EST - Elliot wants to eat and nap at off times, but I think we'll all be back on schedule by the weekend. I plan to post a few more pics from the trip this weekend...

Smash Goes the Burger

Yesterday, Elliot spent the morning with the boys. After running a few errands they went to Papa's favorite new lunch joint, Smash Burger. Elliot slept through part of lunch but was awake long enough to watch his Daddy, Uncle, and Papa eat their burgers like pros.

Last night while Brian, Stacey and Joe and I were at the rehearsal dinner for Bryan Snow's wedding, Elliot hung out with Grammy and Papa and entertained the Gooches and Ibsens (longtime friends of the Farnum family) who both came by for a visit.

Today is the wedding and Elliot will have the same baby sitter he had on Friday night. She was very nice and seemed to really like Elliot so I am sure he will have a fun afternoon and evening. Tomorrow we head beack to Virginia. I know Elliot will be sad to leave CO...but I am sure he will also be happy to be back in his own room and on his normal schedule.

Splishing and Splashing

More firsts...

First we played outside and then we took a bath in the big tub.

Lions and Tigers and Bears...

Yesterday was another big day for Elliot. After a morning of playing with Grammy and Papa we went into town to see the new library and to have lunch. Elliot slept through most of the trip...a theme for the day. When we got back some of the grown ups took naps while Elliot played with Grammy. Once we were all rested we headed to Denver to check out the zoo. Once again Elliot slept though the whole trip. He woke up just as we were about to leave and got to see the lions. From the zoo we headed to Aunt Stacey and Uncle Joe's house. They have lovely new (old) home and Elliot had a great time exploring their living room and kitchen. While we were there my good friend Ellen stopped by to meet Elliot. Ellen and I have been friends since college and it was so good to see her. If it wasn't for Ellen there might not be an Elliot. When we graduated from college, Ellen asked our friend Jodi and I to move to Boulder with her...which is where I met Stacey and her brother Brian. By the time we left Stacey and Joe's house Elliot was fast asleep. He had a much better night last night which meant we all slept well. Today Elliot and I are hanging out with Grammy while the big boys golf. Tonight we are going out to dinner and leaving Elliot home with a sitter.

Rocky Mountain High...

We made it! After two flights, three diaper changes, two outfit changes, two bottles, one chewed up sock, one jar of squash, and one tired mommy-we arrived in Denver. Elliot was a great flier. He loved watching all of the people in the airports and on the plane, he hardly fussed, and he slept through both flights. We were greeted at the airport by Daddy who was very happy to see us.

I wish I could say our first night in Erie went as smoothly. Elliot was up a lot in the night and could not seem to get comfortable. It took Brian and I both back to those sleepless nights when Elliot was just a few weeks old. Thankfully the nice thing about visiting grandparents is that they can help. We handed Elliot over to his Grammy at 6 AM and we both slept in! He had a fun morning with both of his grandparents (lots of new toys ans things to explore) and he is napping with his Grammy as I type.

Tonight we are headed to Denver to Elliot's Aunt Stacey and Uncle Joe and thier new house. More posts to come. ..

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Weekend at Mimsey's

Elliot and I went to Williamsburg for the weekend to visit Mimsey and Grand Dad. While Mommy shopped for a dress to wear to a wedding next weekend, Mimsey took care of Elliot. In honor of her time with him I thought it would be nice if she contributed to the blog. So now a word from Mimsey...

"Precious little Elliot and I went on a nice long walk on a beautiful day. We saw many of Mimsey's friends along the way who thought Elliot was just the cutest. He slept for a great part of the walk, but when awake he was very alert to nature and people. We also rolled around on the floor a lot. Elliot loves to crawl , commando style, and can move quickly. With my morning work out and chasing Elliot I believe I gained some muscle! I loved being with my grandson:)"

Can you tell me how to get to Strawberry Street?

Today Elliot and I met up with Allie and her mom Audrey at the Strawberry Street Festival. It's a small street festival that raises funds for Fox Elementary School. The school, located on Strawberry St. and Hanover Ave., is very close to the apartment that Brian and I rented when we first moved to Richmond.

The four of us had a lovely time at the festival. Elliot and Allie enjoyed gazing at each other and touching/holding hands. They also got their grove on when the band started playing. Allie was a little scared of the drums, at first... but she got over it when she saw how much fun Elliot was having.

The party didn't stop after we left the festival. This evening after naps, of course, we headed across the ally for a BBQ at the Gables' House (Martin's family). We all met lots of new people and had lots of fun.

Flying Solo

This weekend I left Elliot and Brian at home and headed to Charlottesville, VA for a weekend with the girls, and to celebrate the upcoming marriage of my friend, and Elliot's Godmother, Tasha Henderson. I missed the boys terribly but did enjoy spending quality time with good friends. Elliot and Brian had a nice time together running errands, watching golf, and listening to music. Apparently, Elliot really digs Zeppelin.

I returned home on Sunday at around lunch time. After much needed naps (for all of us). We went on a long walk and spent some time playing in the park. There, Elliot enjoyed grabbing fist fulls of grass and getting up close and personal with Zsi-Zsi. After we got home Elliot went down for a late afternoon nap while Brian and I installed his big boy car seats. Hopefully we'll be making many more trips to the park this spring and summer.
